The MHT implant is a resurfacing prosthesis for the base of the first proximal phalanx.
Manufactured from cobalt chrome, this implant provides a joint surface that is anatomically congruent to the first metatarsal head. Phalangeal resection and the size of the anchoring stem do not compromise secondary iterative surgery (replacement, arthrodesis).
Indications
- Treatment of Stage III hallux rigidus
Benefits
- 3 sizes available.
- Titanium coating on the 1st proximal third of the anchoring stem to optimize secondary bone adhesion.
- Rounded dorsal edge to increase joint range in flexion–extension.
- Minimum plantar thickness of the prosthetic joint surface to avoid lesion of the flexor hallucis brevis attachment site.
- Anatomical radius of curvature for congruent fit to metatarsal head.
- Trapezoidal anchoring stem for anatomical fit to medullary canal and increased stability, especially rotational.
- Simple instrumentation including adjustable phalangeal cutting guide and metal trial implants.
